Most of the Wagon Wheel is people staying a while. Seven of the twelve pads are taken by long-term residents, so if you're looking for somewhere to park a rig for a month or several, you'd be joining a small, settled park rather than a holiday campground that empties out on Sunday night.
Rates vary by site because the sites do. The higher end is Site 2, which comes with a cover, a carport, a concrete slab and private storage. Some sites are let by the month only. Pick your dates on the booking page and you'll see exactly what each available site costs for your stay, with no estimate and no fee added at the end.
Electric is not included in the monthly rate. It's read at the meter and settled separately at the office. Nightly and weekly rates do include it.
No stay costs more than the site's monthly rate, per month. If you book a stretch that would otherwise add up to more than a month's rent, you're charged the month instead — so a long fortnight and a full month can cost the same thing. Stays longer than a month are billed by the month, with the remainder charged the normal way.
One consequence worth knowing before you book: because the cap can be reached by a shorter stay, a booking that hits it is on monthly terms for everything else too, including how electric is settled and what cancelling costs. The full terms are on the office hours and policies page.
Every pad is 60 feet and takes 30 and 50 amp service. Of the 4 sites open at the moment, 2 are pull-throughs — the rest are back-in. Full hookups are ready when you pull in.
The whole property sits outside the FEMA 100-year floodplain. In the Hill Country that is not a small thing, and it matters more the longer you stay: a hard rain means a view of the Medina River running high rather than a 2am scramble to hitch up and move your rig.
The booking form doubles as the park's own guest application — the same questions the office has always asked on paper. Filling it in online is pre-filling, not paperwork: every question below your contact details is optional, and you can finish it with us at check-in exactly as you always would. 325 Polly Peak Dr, seven minutes from downtown Bandera — close enough that the shops, the honky-tonks and the Frontier Times Museum are a short drive, far enough out that the evenings stay quiet. The managers live on site, so there's almost always someone about.
